Hi, this is Hazel speaking!
I’ve been considering myself as a reader since I was little. My parents are two passionate readers, and we have a huge bookcase in our living room. We enjoyed going to bookstore on weekends. What’s funny is, they never prohibit me to read inappropriate pieces (like novels with some violent or erotic contents) though they should have to do so. I think that’s why I’m more mature than my same-aged friends lol.
As time went by, I grew up as a student, and writing became a crucial skill for me. It dawned on me how much reading affects writing. Those who didn’t develop reading as a hobby found it exhausting and thus often gave up on it. Except for academic writing, I love to record my daily life by text. In other words, writing is one of my habits and I consider it as a way to let emotions run wild. However, I always think my English writing skill is poorer than Chinese, which means my English writing skill is not perfect enough to express myself. As a result, in this course, I hope that I can learn how to clarify my complicated and deep emotions in English.
In my spare time, I like to watch English TV series and learn K-POP dance choreography. Dance is definitely my favorite, as it not only helps me stay fit, but also gives me a chance to shine on stage. Watching English series helps me be familiar with the pronunciation of words and learn more local word usages. Furthermore, my listening and speaking ability have improved rapidly, thanks to this hobby.
Today’s class reminded me of one thing: all kinds of resources are about reading. I look forward to sharpening my writing skills by completing all the tasks, and I am ready to accept challenges (only mentally I think XD). Sincerely hope that I can gain lots of writing experience and reflections from every classmate. Luv ya guys ;)

Why can yo be so mature that you get this golden rule already? XD! This is exactly what the research shows, study after study: reading is the key to writing proficiency. Keep your interests, watching English drama series and learning K-Pop dance, while enjoying self-selected reading and writing!
